Highlights from our week:

Kindergarten - Music with Scarves! We are working on fast/slow/loud/quiet and moving to the beat. 









Students (1-6) are being assessed individually and in whole-groups on basic rhythm reading and echo playing with our instrument alternatives (Scarves,Cups,Sticks,Lids).





Grade ½ - Music with scrapers made out of pool noodles.  We are working on quarter notes, eighth notes and rests. 







Grades 3-6 have begun the drumming unit.  We are reading, playing, and creating rhythm and beats.  The Grade ⅚ classes also performed some desk drumming to "Nothing But Peace" for Remembrance Day.

Highlights from our week:

 



Kindergarten:

No, these are not Easter eggs. They are musical instruments!  Students used the egg shakers to follow the beat of this week’s songs.  We also played listening games with the eggs outside, as the weather was so warm.  We took advantage of the large, outdoor space this week to play drama games that helped us to practice teamwork and to use our imaginations. 


Grade ½:

This week we assessed our Folk Art Trees and began two songs that fit well with Remembrance day.  The two songs are:







This week we focused on DRAMA - The weather was so nice that we were able to work outside.  Students collaborated to make Tableau. Students then took “centre stage” and demonstrated their theme for the class.  



The school is beginning to look so beautiful as many classrooms are creating poppies for Remembrance Day.
